Lo-fi recording metal music?

Hi guys gals I have a question on how to Get a raw sounding music that of the likes of vlad tepes, mutiilation, Belketre, black murder, Sombre chemin demos like off of the demo nous resterons fidelies... I'm pretty sure all of those bands used 4 tracks but that's all I know. Tell me what their set up was like. The guidance will be much appreciated.
