Anyone from Virginia?

My husband are re-locating to the area from out of state and are oblivious to the area. We have begun the search to find houses and my goodness it is hard to find affordable single family homes! My husbands job is in Chantilly....anyone know of some small towns near by that we can look?? Thanks for your help!!!
