How do you tell a really good friend that you like him?

Kay so I have been hanging around this guy and we have become really good friends and now I have started to really like him he likes another girl though but she doesnt like him I really want to go out with him but I think it might ruin our friendship (wich is what happened to my ex) I have been really flirty but he is compleatly oblivious to it please please help
