Did Team Obama do anything else besides hand out TShirts to get the people at the memorial to behave like that?

I despise Obama - but I think his speech was great. I think his comment about civility could have just as easily been directed at the dem's for using this tragedy as a political weapon. But I do agree with the 'talking heads' that the crowd seemed to forget that this wasn't a rally, but a memorial. It seemed even Obama wanted them to tone down and thought it was inappropriate. He didn't say that, and shouldn't, but he did try to talk over them to get his points across that were much more somber than what they were cheering. I'm glad for what Obama did and upset at the crowd.
