Am i over-exaggerating or is this the worst birthday ever?

Ive been fighting with my boyfriend for the last couple of week over several incidents (each getting worst as time progressed) and today is my birthday/anniversary with him. We have stop arguing but today he did absolutely nothing for my birthday, no cake, no dinner reservations, no attempt to get friends together....nothing. He did wish me happy birthday several time...followed by constant questions as to why im so somber on my birthday and a bunch of i love yous.... We do NOT have much money becuase we are both students however this year for his bday i worked my but off to get money to celebrate it and even though the money didnt come in on time i still surprised him on his actual birthday with candle and a candle light dinner and an icecream cake. Then the next weeken when my check came in i beg my friend for a ride( we dont have a car) to the nearest holiday inn and booked us a room, decorated it with candles and rose petals and had champayne etc waiting while my friend took him on a miniature scavenger hunt ( ieven made the instruction in poem form)......my last years bday was quite frankly fantastic but this year i feel like he more than dropped the ball...am I overreacting?
